Cooperation with Bareos

Bareos (Backup Archiving Recovery Open Sourced) is a cross-network open source backup solution that can back up data from all common operating systems and store it in a central location. Bareos uses either local media or external cloud storage for backups. The software runs on Linux, FreeBSD, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Windows and macOS, among others.

Bareos GmbH & Co KG from Cologne ensures the further development of the backup solution as open source software. Together with international partners, the company offers professional support, user training (in several languages) and Bareos integration at the customer’s premises. Customers around the world include many SMEs as well as DAX and Fortune 100-listed companies.
The dual study program at Bareos

In cooperation with the FHDW, Bareos offers the dual study programs Applied Computer Science and Business Informatics. In the Cologne office, students work closely with other Bareos developers, take part in technical discussions and implement new features of the backup software. They provide support in sales processes, e.g. in customer support and advice, and in expanding the partner/reseller network.
