In the field of “Applied AI” you will build up sound knowledge in advanced machine learning and generative models for text, images and audio. You will learn how to select and adapt language models and develop intelligent chatbots and knowledge systems. With a focus on explainability, optimization techniques such as prompting and fine-tuning, you will implement AI solutions in a practical way and evaluate them reliably – even for complex issues.
Cyber Security
In the Master’s degree program in Cyber Security, you will deepen your knowledge of the security of IT systems and networks as well as the defense against cyber attacks. You will acquire advanced skills in areas such as incident response, encryption technologies and security management to help companies and organizations overcome complex security challenges.
AI & Data Science
The focus includes topics such as machine learning, statistical modelling, data visualization and big data technologies. One focus is on the practical application of data analysis methods to solve complex problems and support data-based decisions. Knowledge in the areas of data management and ethical aspects of data use is also taught. The specialization prepares students to work as data scientists in various industries and to develop and implement data-driven strategies.
IT management
You will gain in-depth knowledge in the field of strategic planning, implementation and management of IT resources in companies as well as topics such as IT governance, project management, cybersecurity and digital transformation. One focus is on analyzing and solving complex IT problems and making decisions in the IT sector. Knowledge in the areas of data management and IT infrastructure is also taught. The specialization prepares students to successfully manage IT projects and to design and implement a company’s IT strategy.
Sustainable IT
Our Master’s degree program in Sustainable IT teaches all the key skills needed to evaluate sustainable strategies, technologies and IT architectures and implement them successfully in companies. The focus is on the design and operation of sustainable IT infrastructures, energy-efficient data centers and sustainable software development.

Bachelor’s, Master’s or Diploma degree.
2. knowledge of English
A further requirement for the course is proof of English proficiency at B2 level, which can be provided by means of certificates, stays abroad or a separate language test.
3rd admission interview
We conduct an admissions interview with all applicants. You should allow about an hour for this. We will talk about whether the degree program you have chosen is the right one for you, how you can ensure a good work-study balance and what your career goals are.

I travel a lot for work and can't be at the FHDW for all seminars. What can I do?
This is exactly what our degree program is designed for! Although you have attendance times on selected Saturdays, online lectures take place during the week, so you have maximum flexibility and can take part from anywhere. We plan the presentations well in advance so that you can fit them into your job and your private life.
How can I convince my employer that my part-time studies are also worthwhile for him?
The course provides for a lot of practical input. This means that you will cover many topics during your studies that are also important for your employer. This includes not only term papers, but also our transfer projects and the Master’s thesis, in which specific problems or issues from your company are dealt with.
