Dual Bachelor's degree: Business Administration, Business Informatics or Applied Informatics
Do you want to ideally combine theory and practice? A dual study program gives you the chance to experience both. You combine theoretical training at the university with intensive practical experience in companies. You decide for yourself whether you stay with a fixed partner company for the duration of your studies or get to know different companies.
Your path to a Bachelor's degree: business administration, business informatics and more
At the Fachhochschule der Wirtschaft (FHDW), you have the opportunity to choose from various dual Bachelor’s degree programs. These are particularly popular:
- Business Administration (BWL): You will acquire comprehensive knowledge in all important areas of economics and can specialize in one of ten key areas. This will prepare you for responsible tasks in various industries.
- Business Informatics: This degree program combines business administration and computer science. You can specialize in one area and later find a wide range of employment opportunities – from software development and data science to IT consulting.
- Applied computer science: If you have previous IT knowledge from an apprenticeship or previous studies, this is the right place for you. In addition to computer science, the program also includes business administration, project management and English.
Start your dual study program - the perfect combination of theory and practice
Your entry into practice - right from the start

During your dual study program, theoretical and practical phases alternate on a quarterly basis. You will learn in a permanent company or gain experience in various companies. This gives you an insight into the real world of work and allows you to put what you have learned directly into practice.
The FHDW Talent Service supports you in finding suitable practice partners. With application training and an extensive job exchange, all doors are open to you. Many companies will even pay your tuition fees – in part or in full.

The practical shock feared by many graduates does not occur, as you have already got to know the world of work during your studies.
Financial benefits and career prospects
In addition to the practical experience, a dual study program also has financial benefits. During the practical phases, you will receive a salary and the tuition fees are often covered by your practice partner. The experience gained in different companies will also allow you to better assess your strengths and interests, which will benefit you when starting your career or applying for jobs later on.
