Dual study at the Paderborn district
Are you interested in administration and digitalization? Together with the FHDW in Paderborn, the district of Paderborn offers you the opportunity to specialize in one of the following areas in the dual Bachelor’s degree course in Business Informatics:
- Business Process Management
- Data Science
- IT consulting.
The cooperation gives you the opportunity to transfer what you have learned during your studies directly into practice and thus help to implement the district’s digitalization strategy. As a dual student of business informatics, you will work in both the CDO staff unit and the IT Service department during your practical phases.

As CDO (Chief Digital Officer), you will support the team in cross-office digitalization projects or even take on the project management for smaller projects yourself. You will have the opportunity to contribute your innovative and creative solutions and be given responsibility quickly.
The IT service is divided into six specialist areas: school IT, administration, infrastructure, specialist procedures, device management and user help desk. Your tasks in this department include supporting the infrastructure of the district administration and its external locations, implementing and updating specialist software and processing support requests from employees. Application
You first apply to the FHDW for a place on the B.Sc. in Business Informatics course. Once you have successfully completed the application process, you can apply to the district as a practice partner.
