DFT is a Bielefeld-based company with around 450 employees and has been part of the Austrian KNAPP AG, based in Graz, Styria, since 2010. The machine manufacturer produces state-of-the-art overhead conveyor technology for the clothing industry, the electronics (wholesale) trade, pharmaceutical wholesalers, automotive production logistics and e-commerce in general. These intelligent systems handle the automatic transportation and sorting of goods in the warehouses of the respective customers. This ensures that complex systems are easy to handle and that work processes are organized efficiently and smoothly. DFT is active worldwide, with a focus on the main markets in Northern, Western and Central Europe.
Your dual study program in business informatics
Would you like to study but gain work experience at the same time? Then a dual study program at DFT is just right for you. Together with the FHDW, DFT offers the practice-integrated degree course in Business Informatics at either the Bielefeld or Paderborn campus. During the practical phases, you will consolidate your learning content at DFT and gain professional experience in the Warehouse Control System department, particularly in the area of software engineering. To round off your knowledge in full, you will work on projects right from the start. You will learn hands-on in cooperation with and from your team colleagues and accompany them to the customer to put the software into operation.

Your future area of responsibility
After completing your dual study program, you will work as a software engineer in the Warehouse Control System department at DFT, taking care of all control-related software topics for the complete automation of the respective systems. Or would you prefer to be involved in the design and development of software right from the start? You will find this opportunity in the DFT development department.
